Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Audio-Visual (AV) Project Manager to join our talented team in Hong Kong. The ideal candidate for the role will plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. The Senior AV Project Manager will also define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle, ensuring the highest level of client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Scoping
- Review and interpret system design drawings, schematics, and scope-of-work documents.
- Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Lead internal and external kick-off meetings to align all stakeholders on project goals and deliverables
Execution & Management
- Manage the project lifecycle from procurement to final commissioning and client handover.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, ensuring clear and consistent communication regarding project status, changes, and issues.
- Procure equipment, manage logistics, and coordinate with vendors and suppliers.
- Direct and supervise installation technicians and subcontractors on-site.
- Manage project financials, including tracking costs, approving invoices, and ensuring profitability.
- Proactively identify and resolve project issues and risks, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Quality Control & Documentation
- Ensure all work complies with company standards, industry best practices, and client specifications.
- Oversee system testing, calibration, and commissioning processes.
- Manage project documentation, including change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), as-built drawings, and close-out packages.
- Conduct final client training and ensure a smooth transition to the support/service team.
Client Relationship & Business Development
- Foster strong, long-term relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor.
- Identify opportunities for additional services or future projects with existing clients.
- Assist the sales team with project estimates and technical feasibility assessments for new opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: 10+ years of direct experience managing commercial audio-visual integration projects.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Communications, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of AV fundamentals, including:
· Video Conferencing (Zoom, MS Teams, Cisco)
· Unified Communications & Collaboration (UCC) solutions
· Control Systems (Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS)
· Audio DSPs, Microphones, and Loudspeakers
· Display Technologies (LED, LCD, Projection)
· Networking fundamentals for AV (VLANs, QoS, etc.) - Project Management Skills: Proven ability to develop project plans, manage teams, control budgets, and mitigate risks.
- Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) and/or CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) are highly desirable.
- High proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, AutoTask) and the MS Office Suite.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, non-technical clients, and senior management.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AutoCAD or Bluebeam for reviewing drawings.
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure and cybersecurity principles as they relate to AV systems.
- Experience working with general contractors and understanding of construction processes.
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
